How cold will it be at the bus stop Monday morning in Columbus GA?
Columbus stops should be near 50 degrees at 7 AM Monday, with the area ranging from 44 degrees in Hogansville to 51 in Tuskegee and Cuthbert.

Stand at the end of a driveway in Hogansville at 7 o'clock Monday morning and you will be in the coldest spot in the viewing area: 44 degrees, barely a breath of wind, and a clear sky overhead. Nobody in 19 counties needs an umbrella. Every stop from Greenville to Eufaula comes in dry and sunny, and the whole area fits inside a 7-degree spread.
The cold corner is the north end. Around LaGrange, where LaGrange, Troup County and LaGrange Academy all draw their riders, it will be 45 degrees at 7 AM with the wind near 5 mph. Greenville matches it at 45, and Callaway's stops in Hogansville sit a degree colder. Manchester warms slightly to 47.
Across the state line in the Valley towns, expect 47 degrees — Valley and Beulah in Valley, Lanett and Springwood in Lanett, and LaFayette and Chambers Academy up in LaFayette, where the breeze runs a touch stronger at 10 mph.
Through the middle of the area it is a few degrees milder. Central-Talbotton's stops in Talbotton start at 48. Taylor County in Butler, Harris County in Hamilton and Chattahoochee County in Cusseta all begin at 49. Marion County in Buena Vista, Schley County in Ellaville and Webster County in Preston reach 50.
Columbus and Phenix City also sit at 50 degrees with a 10 mph northeast breeze. That covers Shaw, Hardaway, Columbus, Spencer, Kendrick, Jordan, Carver, Northside, Calvary Christian, Pacelli and Brookstone on the Georgia side, Central-Phenix City across the river, and Russell County in Seale, Smiths Station and Glenwood east of town.
The warm end of the morning is in Lee and Macon counties. Auburn and Lee-Scott in Auburn, along with Opelika and Beauregard, start at 50. Loachapoka and Notasulga each check in at 51, as does Booker T. Washington in Tuskegee. Down south, Eufaula begins at 49, Quitman County in Georgetown at 49, Barbour County in Clayton and Stewart County in Lumpkin at 50, and Randolph Clay in Cuthbert ties for the warmest stop in the area at 51.
One thing worth knowing: on the Georgia side of the river, 7 AM is still night. Sunrise in Columbus came at 7:49 Friday morning, and the area is losing about 1.9 minutes of daylight every day, so sunrise keeps sliding later. A light-colored jacket or a reflective strip on a backpack is worth more at a dark stop than it looks.
What to send them out in: a hoodie or a light jacket, nothing waterproof. The afternoon climbs to the mid 70s in Columbus, so that jacket becomes something to carry by lunchtime. Tie it to the backpack and save the trip to the lost-and-found.
No school or town by that name in the viewing area.
Forecast: National Weather Service, 7 AM on each town’s own clock — Central in Alabama, Eastern in Georgia.
